1: Assassin's Creed Odyssey

The new part of the Assassin’s Creed franchise came out just a year after the previous one, so it’s not surprising that Odyssey looks like Origins like two peas in a pod of water. We have not personally got acquainted with the game, however, critics praise the storyline, cool graphics with HDR support, and a much greater bias in the RPG than before. From the historicity, however, not a trace remains.
However, Ubisoft RPG perceives the genre in its own way - for them, it is, first of all, an abundance of tierod in pumping. If this is to your liking, then you will most certainly enjoy the game.
Especially if you like to perform the same type of tasks for the sake of the disappearance of all task markers from the large open world map.
By the way, to activate many of the plot tasks you need to reach a certain level, for which the player has two possibilities. The first is the grind: killing enemies, passing third-party quests. The second is that you can just pay. Yes, a microtransaction store is built into the game.
It is particularly interesting that the game was released not only for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 but also on the Nintendo Switch, which is clearly too weak for such a game. The assassin on the Switch was delivered using cloud technologies (the picture of the game is streaming to the console) and for some reason only in Japan.
However, enthusiasts from other countries can also try out this version using VPN and Japanese Nintendo and Ubisoft accounts, but of course, you can’t guarantee that you will get the same convenience as from Japan.

2: Starlink: Battle For Atlas

In short, in fact, Starlink: Battle For Atlas is a typical Ubisoft game about painting the icons on the map. Only cards you have here 7 - by the number of planets.
To the credit of the developers, the planets are still different and diverse. Contrary to the teeth-stained “every planet is homogeneous across its surface,” level designers still diversified landscapes, so even if you are stuck on one planet for a long time, you will not be bored with the same types.
However, the main feature of the game is plastic figures, which are mounted directly on the console gamepad (the game is not available on the PC) 😠using a special nozzle.
All figures fit any console, the only difference is in the nozzle itself. Also, on the PlayStation 4, players will have to connect this entire structure to the console using a USB cable, and on the Xbox One and Switch, there is only a wireless connection.
Ubisoft hopes to make a fortune by selling these figures as add-ons, but you can also buy regular DLC in online stores of consoles.
The main platform for the game, oddly enough, it is the Nintendo Switch. There is a lot of exclusive content with Fox Fox in the lead role (known from the Star Fox series of games), and indeed, the graphics seem to have been specifically designed with Switch in mind. Even on Xbox One X, you get only 30 fps (frames per second), which is clearly not enough for such cartoon graphics.

3: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

The main feature of Black Ops 4 is the "royal battle" mode, in which the game retained an honest 60 fps (frames per second) on consoles, however, sacrificing graphics (in this mode).
Well, after PUBG this fact alone is already interesting, add to this the lack of a construction mode, as in Fortnite - it turns out a very serious bid for the best "royal battle". But it's up to you, of course.
Another "Kolda" became a bit more similar to Destiny, turning the use of additional weapons (such as the same grenades) into skills with a reload time (cooldown).
Well, a bold approach, in the end - it's time to seriously change something in the series, but not in the direction in which Advanced Warfare was moving.
Recall, just in case, that on Xbox One you can still play CoD: Black Ops 2 with the Xbox 360 and there is still very active online - opponents for team battles are searched in seconds.
4: Soulcalibur VI

The Soulcalibur series of fighting games is quite ancient, but for many players, SC remains in the shadow of Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Tekken. And in vain.
After all, even though we don’t really understand where the Japanese fighting games are doing all the performance they demand (the basic PlayStation 4 cannot produce 1080p here, although the overall picture is average), the gameplay here stands apart.
Firstly, all the characters in SC VI are really different. Find similar techniques with them is almost impossible.
The tactics of the struggle are also different for everyone - for example, take the Korean Son Mean, who is armed with guandao, an ancient Chinese weapon that is a long stick with a short sword at the end.
The stick is really long, and therefore Son Mina can attack, unlike most characters, from a distance. Soffit, the Greek heroine, is opposite a very short sword, but she has a shield.
Secondly, colorful parries with time dilation and other effects make it clear why they even added weapons to the fighting game. It is not here for beauty. And, it turns out, fighting him is much more fun than swinging his legs by performing the same techniques for all characters (Hello, Mortal Kombat).
At the same time, the plot mode in Soulcalibur VI was clearly written "for a show" and consists of static pictures with unvoiced text.
All the more strange that these two modes: in one you play the script for each of the characters in the game, and in the other you create your character.
The game editor allows you to create real monsters, but in reality, they will simply be a "skin" for a character from the standard game catalog.
By the way, Geralt from Rivia added to the list of characters in SC-VI. Yes, yes, the same witcher. Moreover, Geralt even carried on the cover of the game. However, this is not the first time in the SC series.

5: Red Dead Redemption 2

So, RDR2 is a Western from the developers of GTA. This is an important clarification, because if you played GTA, then you already imagine the mechanics of numerous quests and random encounters, as well as how the open world works as a whole.
In RDR2, there is a large map on which you can move on foot, by horse, by train or by stage. At the same time, the stagecoach can be managed by yourself (you can even steal someone’s carriage and sell it to a certain person later), or you can use the stagecoaches standing in cities as a sort of “fast travel”, as an analog taxi. Is that fast-travel does not work anywhere in the world, but only in open cities.
In short, most of the game you will ride somewhere on a horse and you will come across various adventures and interesting characters on your way. Or will not.
The main difference between RDR2 and modern Ubisoft games is that the open world does not try to entertain you every second, and some characters (say, the man who was bitten by a snake and where you need to suck out the poison, and then give the unfortunate medicine) every 100 meters, and once.
Otherwise, you will have to lead the typical life of a gangster (noble or bastard - you decide as the game progresses), “rob caravans”, and sometimes worry about it.
And you can (sometimes even need to) get drunk in saloons, shave, wash, change dirty clothes, catch and tame horses, hunt animals and cook food from them, and so on.
Despite the status of the most anticipated game of the year, RDR2, frankly, is not for everyone. For example, if you get tired when nothing happens in the game for 5 seconds, then play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey better.
Red Dead Redemption 2 - for players who are ready to penetrate the atmosphere of the game world, sometimes even just stopping on a hillock and enjoying the scenery.
Moreover, the scenery here is very cool. Stunning graphics (4K on the Xbox One X and 1920x2160 on the PS4 Pro), a variety of animation, realistic weather and a lot of high-quality voice acting.
6: Super Mario Party

The fact is that all previous games of this genre on the Nintendo Switch were either not sufficiently "party-friendly", like 1-2-Switch (which you would have to give out for free along with the console), or not diverse enough (such as Overcooked or Super Bomberman R - the games are good, but there are obviously fewer types of gameplay in them).
The Super Mario Party returns to the roots of the series, in which, by the way, there are already 11 games, not including purely portable ones (15 with them).
4 players play, if there are fewer people in the game - the rest are replaced by artificial intelligence (bots), each player goes on his own, throwing a die. What number fell on the cube - on so many steps he can move around the map.

Almost every turn, a mini-game is launched, the winner in which receives the most coins, for which then it will be necessary to buy stars on the same map.
After all the players have gone a given number of times (selected at the beginning of the game, the minimum number of moves is 10, which is about an hour of the game), the winner of the whole game is announced, who has scored the most stars.
There are 80 mini-games in the Super Mario Party, which are divided into several types: each for himself, one against three, two for two and all four players - one team.
In addition to the card passing mode, there is a purely cooperative rafting mode, a rhythm game, a desktop mode where you can connect several Nintendo Switch, and online multiplayer.
With the latter, however, it did not work out - online offers a rather boring mode of passing the same five mini-games in a circle.
The set of these games changes after a while, but the pleasure is, frankly, so-so. Moreover, in the network often there are various failures that lead to jerks in the game.
